Zamaria Zephyr was raised among enchanted texts in her family's quiet bookshop, where some books listen back and certain symbols shift beneath a reader's gaze.
Her mother Amara keeps the shop and its practical magic of preservation and order; the shop is both a home and the first place magic recognises Zamaria.
It is here that a mysterious stranger enters and the ordinary world begins to fracture.
